This is why I have my S2K
Ok, this is a post I made on Honda-tech.com in rebuttal to all the comparisons between S2k's and STi's... you can't really compare them.
I added one of our fellow member's car for "umph"
I think this is the best argument for the S2k. It may not be the fastest or most practical but it FEELS, SOUNDS, DRIVES, LOOKS like a proper sports car.
It's an automotive paradox, twice.
1: It appeals to the younger crowd, like the STI and the EVO but what sets it appart is that it's look, engineering, driver satisfaction appeals to an older and perhaps more refined crowd as well.
2: It looks "pretty" and "mean" at the same time. Nice leather trim, smooth simple lines and very little nonsense in the cabin BUT when driven it feels brutal, visceral, and experienced.
It looks better (than an STI/EVO IMHO) and on a cloudless spring day or a warm summer night, nothing beats having a convertible!
Here's my "feeling" about the s2k/STI/EVO put into words:
The EVO is the STI's Darth Vader. The two cars are arch rivals. They are Yin and Yang, like twins that were raised on different sides of the "Force". Both are 4 door sedans that are AWD. Both have 4 cylinder turbo charged engines. Both put out about the same power and performance. Both roughly in the same price range. But, after all the similarities they both look pissed... At each other! Constantly competing in a tunervision/nopi/hot import nights type of world, you can bet that if you talk long enough with many STI owners you will hear a comparison in terms of the EVO and vice versa. It's as if there is only enough room in this world for ONE. Each year they must come from the factory pumped up with more visually aggressive, almost ostentatious, styling as if to say, "next year's model will be powered by nothing more than testosterone." In short both of them are nothing more than modern day muscle cars. Just like Ford and Chevy, just like Mustang and Camaro.
So what happens when something completely different joins the party?
Enter: S2000. When the s2k joins the party the EVO and STI pause their bickering just long enough to ask each other, "Who the "F" invited this guy?" The s2k just smiles and nods. With a puritan mentality of RWD and a taste for the refinement of 9000rpms he sees no value in competition with anything other than physics. The S2000, as good looking a car as it is, isn't purchased for the sake of car shows, quarter mile times and turning heads down on the "Strip". The S2000 exists solely for the owner, for the simple pleasure of the wind, the rev-match and the smile. The headlights are the cunning eyes to it's face while the grill appears as a grin, the kind of grin you have when you know you've got exactly what you want. So when it comes down to the question, "Who the "F" invited this guy," remember the s2k is here for the chicks, because they're the ones who invited him.

Not drunk but definitely late at night and as I read it again in the morning I'm fine with it... Something not too common with my late night decisions
