Default Why the S2k?

What made you chose the S2k?
What color and Model AP1 or AP2?
What mods you have on your S?
Track, Drag? or just Liesure?
Functional or -----> Hella Flush?
What's your future mod?
How long have you had your S?
Keeping her forever or?...sell out and sell her? lol
OEM or Aftermarket? Why?
Please also post a current pic of your S as she sits. So go out and snap a picture of your beloved!! Don't cheat!! Current pics only

I chose the S because I've always wanted one for quite some time. Finally I decided to pull the trigger and bought one. My first S was an AP1 paid cash for her. It was Silver stone all black interior. Mods were turbo and wheels, custom paint, rolled front and rears. Stayed with soft top upgraded to AP2 rears with tail lights also. Sold turbo rebuilt block to NA. Fully built with Darton sleeves and the whole nine yards. Sold the whole car sadly because My wife was prego with my daughter. Got a TL-S to replace the S. Finally decided I need a toy and got into another S after 6 months of searching for an 06+ AP2 GPW S. Got it and love it. Mods on her as of current: CR front end with splitter, RSG C/F hardtop painted GPW left sides in c/f. AP2V1 wheels, Front and rears fenders are rolled. Thanks to Elliot for rolling my rears he did an excellent job!! Bride Gias Lowmax, KWV3's, Next mod will most likely be wheels and would have to be at least 17x9 or 9.5s with 255's, and she lost a bit of weight also. Oh yeah and finally removed the black windshield tape and now she is all GPW! As far as engine mods?.... I don't know which way I really want to go as of yet. N/A or Boost?

What made you chose the S2k?

A buddy of mine in college owned one.. I went on a few drives with him and I was hooked. Randomly searching eBay one day when I was looking into buying a Civic Si and I saw one in my town for sale... decided I only live once and went for the S2k.

What color and Model AP1 or AP2?

Silverstone AP2

What mods you have on your S?

KW V3, CR Front swaybar, Berk HFC, CR wing, CR Lip, CR Rims, OEM Hardtop, and other stuff.

Track, Drag? or just Liesure?

Track and Liesure.

Functional or -----> Hella Flush?

Functional.

What's your future mod?

Possibily FI.

How long have you had your S?

Since April 2009.

Keeping her forever or?...sell out and sell her? lol

Keeping it for a while. Depends on how the BRZ/FR-S progresses, S2000 successor, maybe NSX. If I go FI I'll keep it for a while.

OEM or Aftermarket? Why?

OEM when I can. better R&D, better quality. Otherwise I chose quality parts such as KW coilovers or Carbotech brakes.

Please also post a current pic of your S as she sits. So go out and snap a picture of your beloved!! Don't cheat!! Current pics only

What made you chose the S2k?

- Ive been a fan of Honda for a long time. Fit, finish, quality, reliability, fun factor etc. its all there. I drove probably, an honest 25 different cars while trying to find the one i wanted. I drove the Corvette, all combinations of roof & transmissions of M3 (E46), Prelude, Civic SI, Evolution 8/9, Scion TC, WRX & WRX STI, Legacy GT, Altima with the big motor & manual box, G35, 350z, RX7's of all body types, all sorts of stuff and none of them gave me the feeling that the s2k did.

in addition, im not an engineer (yet, back in school for a second bachelors) but i love the little engineering things that they did. slipper pistons, timing gears with a shorter chain, the real VTEC etc. Its a car that doesnt just say "look what new stuff we did" its a car that says, "this is what we have done, this is what we can do and the rest of the world now knows for sure who makes the best roadster out there." it really is a tribute car and they executed that so well.

What color and Model AP1 or AP2?

-When i went to actually purchase, there was an 03 and an 04 both with hard tops and both with similar mileage (22K and 23K and i dont remember which was which) and both silverstone (as i recall), and within 1K of each-other and in my budget. I wound up with the AP2 because of the different look, i didnt care about 9K at the time and it was in a little better shape.

What mods you have on your S?

-It has a K&N FIPK
-Low mount seat rail for a stock drivers seat
-Roll bar speakers
-SOS hood lifters
-Ebay strut tower bar that has a cool color, some bronzeish color
-fumoto valve
-when the weather gets nicer im going to do the UK exhaust mod.

Track, Drag? or just Liesure?

-Leisure, sunny/non rainy day leisure

Functional or -----> Hella Flush?

-functional, but its more of a museum piece now a days

What's your future mod?

-id like to do a blower, specifically the SOS blower as i like how un-intrusive it seems to be. Also, im a really big nitrous fan as ive gone that route a few times in the past and it was pretty fun and cost effective. however, the idea of cutting into the car or anything like that makes me sick to my stomach.

How long have you had your S?

-officially bought it the 4th of july in 07

Keeping her forever or?...sell out and sell her? lol

-given the low miles, the constantly increasing value and the ever present "HEY NICE carrrrrrrrr...." as i drive down the road, im keeping it. Theres only really one or two cars that id sell for and realistically the only one id ever sell for would be an NSX.

OEM or Aftermarket? Why?

-im currently trying to horde all the OEM accessories that i can as they are going out of production slowly but surely. I think its kind of cool to have little OE goodies. Additionally, if they are parts like brakes or maintenance items, im not opposed to aftermarket. the dealer prices are not always worth it and you can get better performance for an equivalent or lower price

and a rather current pic. 0 has changed since this.

What made you chose the S2k?
1) It's discontinued and hope it stays that way so the value can hold.
2) The body style never ages.
3) The 9k redline and transmission gearbox.
4) The 'thumbs up' I receive when I drive it.
5) The endless options on how to build or mod it.
6) The closest I'll get to an NSX in the Honda scene at this point being a youngin' and just starting my career.
7) Semi-hand built from the factory.

What color and Model AP1 or AP2?
2003 Spa Yellow AP1

What mods you have on your S?
Keeping her mostly stock. Awaiting to install a set of Bilstein PSS9s.

Track, Drag? or just Liesure?
Leisure. In the future, I hope I can find another S to track.

Functional or -----> Hella Flush?
Functional

What's your future mod?
High Quality Mugen-style hardtop. ASM rear spoiler. Wheels. Stereo upgrade since the AP1 stereos are horrible.

How long have you had your S?
7 months

Keeping her forever or?...sell out and sell her? lol
Keeping her forever

OEM or Aftermarket? Why?
Mostly OEM. The S2000 was engineered and designed carefully with precision so I don't want to take too much from that away from the car. Quality aftermarket parts for coilovers, wheels, and hardtop. OEM parts for performance and maintenance.

I purchased the S2k because it is a great bang for the buck and to this day has a better overall fun factor than any car that I have driven by a considerable margin.

It is a silver stone 2001 with fairly low mileage.

Mods: 16" SSR Wheels (Thanks Twanny )-- and soon to be put on Swift Springs

Definitely functional

Future Mod: My next biggest mod will likely be 17" Ap2 size wheels/tires--will keep 16's though

May 2012

Not sure yet, but I would miss it a lot!

More on the side of OEM because overall I like the way the car came from Honda. I think it is a great product as is.

What made you chose the S2k?

My first car was a rsx-s and I loved it so naturally I liked Honda's. Then my friend picked up a ap2 and i fell in love with it, has been my dream car ever since. Convertible, rear wheel drive, and vtec, perfect combination lol! So finally 5 years later my dream came true!

What color and Model AP1 or AP2?

I originally wanted white but ended up with black, I've always liked black and I had three black cars before the S but you cant really beat white on a s2k. And only ap2 for me, ap1 was already getting a little too old and i prefer the interior and exterior styling of the ap2.

What mods you have on your S?

So far just megan racing track coilovers.

Track, Drag? or just Liesure?

Mostly liesure but occasional take it out on the track to slide her around

Functional or -----> Hella Flush?

Functional for sure, i like it low and some wide wheels but not over board.

What's your future mod?

Ap2 oem lip, set of nice wheels, intake/exhaust.

How long have you had your S?

Proud owner since May 2012

Keeping her forever or?...sell out and sell her? lol

Will keep here till the end of this summer for sure, and then maybe sell it and get a STI. Love subi's and do alot skiing.

How she currently sits, now much has changed since I got her:

So far so good guys, hoping to see some ladies posting up soon also. I know there are some out there that has an S.

I love OEM parts also but I just couldn't fork over 3500-4000 for an OEM top. I should've kept one back when prices were only 2k lol.

@ Spets she looks good man the next Type S in the states.

@ phokingrice thats a low mileage AP1 you have there. Good find and you're right about body style that never ages like the NSX. That's why I love this car! Only thing I would sell it for will be an NSX.

@ Vlad, I can agree with you about getting a Subie. Me and the wife will be looking into getting one here soon. We also snowboard and it would be more practical to get that as a family car since we have a little daughter anyways.

Keep them coming guys/gals.

What made you choose the S2k? I have always loved it and it was the car I wanted after my civic. I think I lusted after the S2000 for 10+ years before getting one.
What color and Model AP1 or AP2?
The color was the bigger need for me. it had to be red. It then had to be an AP2 because of the bank loan.
What mods you have on your S?
Cr lip OEm top coilovers 5zigen wheels intake header exhaust Emanage a bunch of interior dress up bits and engine bits. More that I can't remember.
Track, Drag? or just Liesure?
Mine is a driver. I would like to try some track days with it though.
Functional or -----> Hella Flush?
Somewhere in the middle. My wheels are very aggressive but they still have decent size tires on it. I don't like being only dedicated to one or the other.
What's your future mod?
I want to change my coilovers to something better. Thinking the Fortune 500 coiovers with swift springs.
How long have you had your S?
Just over 2 years.
Keeping her forever or?...sell out and sell her? lol
I'd like to think I will have the car forever.
OEM or Aftermarket? Why?
For what? For me it depends on the part you are talking about.

Most current pic I have. Its in the garage and I'm not moving the fit to take it out.

Good idea for a thread.

What made you chose the S2k?

I thought it was the coolest thing on 4 wheels at the time. 9000RPM - RWD - Honda reliability - 6MT only (weeds out the truly lame) and incredibly fun to drive

What color and Model:

AP1 Sebring Silver

What mods you have on your S?

BC RS coilovers

A few sets of wheels

A few sets of tires

Magnaflow exhaust

cf snorkle intake

cf go fast stickers

Track, Drag? or just Leisure?

A mix - I haven't had much of a chance to drive it lately. Just working. When I did have time to drive it - it was auto-x and lapping days

Functional, thank you very much Hella flush cars should be Monte Carlos or Cutlass Supremes.

What's your future mod? More time to enjoy the car. It's fine as it is. Driver could always use improvement.

How long have you had your S? Since new - 2002

Keeping her forever - at least as long as I can drive it! What else would be as much fun, easy and cheap to maintain and is capable of spanking way more expensive cars at the track?

OEM or Aftermarket? Both.

With the TSW 17x9 +63 wheels

With some of it's S2000 brothers at PGP

With RT and lots o' g force and a banked turn:

Beating up on a 997 C2S at PR

Finally a beauty shot on the SSR GT3s courtesy of Vtecmom's son Kyle who has a real gift for photography. Probably haven't had those wheels on the car for three years now...

Best car I've ever had and the friends I've made because of it have been amazing.
