haha.............I don't exactly understand what was going on though. did all those guys in the classroom tutor that one guy "messing" up on the TV? looked like everytime he goofed, they got whacked.

OK, it's been long enough.
Here's the secret:
A two digit number XY = 10X + Y
The rules of the game were to pick a number, add the two digits together, and subtract that from the number.
10X + Y - (X + Y) = 9X
So the answer you get will always be divisible by nine. If you look at the mystic symbols, they are randomized but they repeat every nine times. So only one symbol is used for the multiples of 9 (9, 18, 27, etc.). That symbol will always be your answer, so after 10 seconds it is flashed to you. Cute.
