Default Which camera should I get..

Help me choose please. I'm a bit stuck between everything. Most likely the D50 is out of the picture since I want to upgrade. So it's between the D70 and the D80

Well the D70 is discontinued replaced by the D80. There are a few things the D80 gained and some it lost. 10mp is great, as it allows for more cropping however it has slower flash sync and some others ( loads of stuff on DP review about this). Personally I prefer the size and shape of the d70.

Look at the features if there is anything you really need on either camera go for that one. And handle both cameras as well to see which you prefer for size etc.

D70 can also be had cheaper as its eol.

If money is a factor at all, I strongly suggest the D70 unless there's features on the D80 you can't live without.

Personally, I'd take a D70 with a really nice lens over a D80 with a so-so lens.

If money is an issue, D50 ftw! Read this

http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d80/vs-d70.htm

Ken Rockwell is a G when it comes to cams. Read that article. Its a D50 vs D70 vs D80......he knows his shit and pretty much states that megapixels don't matter. Great read and great site

I use a lot of fill-flash so I'm bummed Nikon didn't keep or improve the top sync speed in the D80. Oh well, I'm planning to keep my D70s at least until the next generation.

Oh, and Ken Rockwell is a blowhard. Not that he's 100% wrong but take his advice with a grain of salt.

I guess I was really looking into the D80 was because of my dell laptop being able to have a slot for the SD memory card. I was reading up on both and it's hard for me to decide which one to get.

Have you handled both cameras yet? The best advice is go find a shop and play with them and see which one feels best in your hand.

Truth. If you want some good honest reviews, www.bythom.com is so much better then Rockwell (whom reviews lenses based on assumptions a lot of the times...)
