Click the link to see what pictures other people have taken with this lens. I was looking for a decent zoom lens at a good price for wildlife pics. I use a D5000 body if that helps. Just wanted to get some feedback on how this specific lens might not take good pics since some of the pics in this gallery are subpar. Thanks for the help fellas.

i think if you are or going to be serious with photography, save up and get something better. Lenses you can buy and not really worry about upgrading all the time.

If not then, have at it

what type lenses let you blur the background and that type stuff. This little guy seems like the 70-300 nikkor that nikon wants like 600 for.

No, but hey thats just me. if you dont think you are going to spend any more than that in the next 3-4 years for a lens of this focal length than go for it. But if your going to buy another than your just throwing your $ away.

I have this lens, and have used it 3 times literally. I just bought the Nikon 70-200VRII, I will send you this Tamron Lens shipped, in box (Brand new basically) for $75 shipped if you want

@ Joey. As I'm sure Joey and many others learned (myself included) buy cheap=buy twice.

If you want to shoot wildlife, save up some money, and get a proper lens. A 70-200 (hell, even a Sigma or Tamron) would be a much better option (F2.8) and you will get much better shots. I would save up for the Nikon. It retains value very well, and if you ever need to unload it, it isn't difficult to sell. Slap a 1.4X converter on it, and you have even more reach without any real sacrifice of IQ.

Two rules in photography....

1) Buy cheap - Buy Twice.
2) Lower F number = Higher $ number.
