Craigslist
I have sold a lens or two on Craigslist but everytime I try to buy something it's a scam. Some guy was selling a 100-400 Canon for $800 and doesn't want to meet at a nuetral location, he wants to ship it to me because he's busy. I told him give me a time between 7a-11pm any day of the week at any public location in the city and i won't be a minute late, that was too much trouble. I told him i'd even meet him at the post office at the same time and location that he was going to have to ship it to me from. He said I was pushing so hard that i was going to beat him up and rob him. Get a job buddy.
The latest one was a 1DMKII for $610. Yes I knew it was a scam from the start as no one is selling that camera for anything less than $2500. The ad is in Columbus and I respond, here's what I get;

Hi there,
Sorry for my late reply but I'm currently in England, Wolverhampton. I was promoted to Sales Administrator and I have to take a 6 months trainning program here in UK, before I'll be back home, in States.
The camera is still available, in perfect condition, and I will sell it only in US because here the warranty and the CanonCare are US registered.
The reason why I am selling the camera is because I have just received a new camera as a birthday gift here in UK, so I do not think I will be using my old camera any more. I don't have use for 2 cameras.
I have attached some pics with the camera to this e-mail so you can see the condition of the camera. I bought the camera 8 months ago and it still has 16 months of Canon transferable warranty remaining.
I hope you are still interested and we can make the deal happen right away.
Since I can't meet you and make the exchange, I would like to use a service that will help us with that:
http://www.tnt.com/tnt.express.wolve...y_service.html
TNT is a worldwide delivery company (like Fedex, DHL or UPS). You can see from their procedure that you will be able to check the camera before I receive the payment. If you are in a hurry, I will use 2 day delivery (on my expense).
Let me know what you think.

I did let her know what i think. I told her although I was born at night... it wasn't last night.

Yea...I got ripped off too, I was planning on taking this "gorgeous babe with massive boobs, tight waist, sandy blond hair, and 4 mil in the bank" on a date, but it was just some pimple popping 43 year old fat man living in his mom's basement. Damn I hate getting bamboozled.

Besides some of the scams, I personally love CL.
Bought our old apartment on a listing there by the owner, bought and sold a few cars, bartered a few things - the latest being a Wii, and I'll be picking up snow tires this weekend.
that is the exact same response and format i got when i emailed about a plasma tv except mine was wolverhampton, united kingdom and not england. i find craigslist really helpful if you can meet in person and purchase the item. otherwise i just let these scammers entertain me with their ridiculous emails
