Curious Otter
After shooting some sunrise pictures at the beach this morning I decided to head down to Mackay Island wildlife refuge for some birding. Unfortunately it was a tad windy, so the birds were running for cover, but I found this guy catching some rays:
Then, about ten feet away from me something big disturbed the calm
Hmmp....what'd got there?
Let me get a closer look
Bah....a Canon - I would'a hung longer for a Nikon Shooter
He was about 4 to 5 feet long and came within about 8 feet of me. I knew it was an otter, but when you're all by yourself in a back swamp miles away from civilization you start reaching for your monopod eventhough he was only there a few seconds.
