I'm sure there'll be MUCH more after July 4th, but us Canucks got them early

Nikon D300, tripod, remote trigger. Camera set to bulb - mirror held open for as long as trigger is held down. Manual focus set to infinity.

Kit lens: 18-70mm
Exposure time: 5.8S
F/14
ISO 800
White Balance: Flash
EV: -1.33
Focal length: 22mm (33mm in 35mm film)
ACDSee to resize picture, shadow/highlight to bring back a bit of the blue in the background.

Nice! Too bad the smoke gets somewhat in the way of an almost-perfect picture.

Asiliat - Nice pic. A question for you. Did you use Mirror Lock mode? I borrowed a remote release from a friend and its been rather useful this week. Takes a while to remember to click once for mirror, then hold the release for the shutter, but it seems to remove one more thing from possibly shaking the camera ever so slightly.

Well I used bulb mode - which keeps mirror open as long as trigger is held down. I believe semantically speaking, MLU keeps mirror open even if the trigger is removed. For all intent and purposes though, yes - remote trigger with manual control of mirror flipping open/close is what I was doing....

I bought a 3rd party remote trigger, but now I'm regretting the fact I didn't buy the wireless version - it has more practical - and stealth application

agreed. I could always clone it out?
