First real attempt at RAW
I have been shooting mainly just jpegs for my entire life. I have been slowly dabbling in RAW, but went out shooting at 6:45am with the intent of only shooting in RAW, and learning how to develop them. I used lightroom, CS5, and photoscape to develop. I can honestly say this is my first time developing RAW, using gradients, and playing with multiple file formats. I am very happy so far, and eager to practice more.
Please give me some C&C. I am re-working a side profile shot currently. I am not happy with it. I think it is mostly the location of the subject that ruined the shot. It was my first set of shots, and the sun was still pretty low and it was still slightly dark. Not to mention the sun was almost directly to the left of the subject, not ideal, but I was more interested in trying to learn how to take a side profile shot (tips!). Next time, I will make sure the sun is directly behind me.
I am waiting for the 2nd magical time of the day to come, then heading back out!!!

I really need to figure out layers and combining multiple exposures and using masks. I bracketed my shots, but have not figured out how to combine them without doing HDR
. There are quite a few underexposed areas in my shots that once I figure out the layering/masks, I should be able to fix.
