Default HDR image created

A continuation of THIS thread that I hijacked (sorry bluextc!):

Getting rid of the EXIF data, I was able to create HDR images from a single raw file. This is also my first attempt at any HDR so I don't really know WTF i'm doing

First one created with 3 exposures: -3, 0, +3. I think it came out very flat:

Second one created with 13 exposures: -3, -2.5, -2, -1.5, -1, -.5, +0, +.5, +1, +1.5, +2, +2.5, +3:

Very dramatic change!

I like the definition of the sky and the strong colors/contrast of the flora.

One thing though.. the orange barrel thing seems a bit too saturated. perhaps a quick crop would make the photo look better.

It doesn't look exactly like a HDR (especially with moving people), but certainly something cool to try

Not bad for a first attempt. Can we also see the image at it's normal exposure?

High Dynamic Range. It's a process that merges several exposures into one image.

Check out the link I posted in that other thread for examples. Poindexter also had a good link with more information.

After seeing the original, I can easily see the amount of work needed to get to the finished product.

The crispness of the palms really does it for me. Crop out the people and the baby trees and frame the sucker!

I personally prefer the shadows of the original image.. The processed image looks flat.
