Default High ISO post processing

Hey guys,

I'm going to be shooting a concert this weekend and am anticipating the need for a high ISO (hopefully not over 400) and the 50/1.8. However, I am trying to think ahead to post processing and am at a loss.

Is there anything in particular that one should do in PP with noisy high ISO images? I have a rebel XT which you probably know doesn't make the cleanest low light photos.

thanks!

Use a plug in for Photoshop called Noise Ninja. PM'd
Also, shoot to the right & reduce the exposure in RAW.

By overexposing 2/3 stop to the right, your light meter will read 2 notches right.
For example... when in Manual mode... I would shoot here:

-2--1--0--1--+2

Instead of here:

-2--1--0--1--+2

(Taken from Driv300mph's PM).

Norman showed me this... In Camera Raw (if you shoot RAW), you can move the Luminance Smoothing slider over to help reduce noise also. Depending on your shoot, a little grain might look good.

+1 on NN FTW! Neat Image is equally well regarded.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll give overexposing 2/3 and Noise Ninja a try!
