Default High School Baseball

I thought as a graduation gift for one of my first and best friends, I would go to his baseball game and take a couple of photos and get them printed in 8x10s. (He is #15, and the catcher.) I quit playing baseball after my freshman year (I am a junior), but I still love it.

These shots were taken with my Nikon D40 with my new 55-200mm VR lens.

Early in the game even before the lights came on, I already had to bump the ISO to 1600 just to keep the shutter reasonable for batting shots (around 1/500). When it changed over to night it was just plain impossible. Is there another way?

Well, enjoy!

This was with the 50mm 1.8, I had to break it out once in the night
