Default I'm getting a D200

Hello, I have never posted in the Photography forum, so this will be a first. I take pictures all the time and currently have a little digital and a few nikon 35mm. I decided a few months back it was time to upgrade. I decided to go with the Nikon D200. I have a friend that has the D70, I took a few pictures with it and that quality was great. I have been waiting almost 8 weeks for my camera to come in and I still have another 6-8 weeks untill I get it. I am assuming this is a pretty popular camera. I can't wait till it comes, once I get it I will take some Pictures and post them up.

I have never checked out Nikoncafe, I will have to go there. I have seen them on ebay, I am sure I could get one off there quicker but I will wait since I have already ordered it. It is tempting to try and get it sooner.

I see people selling all the time... going up to D2x or Down to D80

Nikonians.org is another but they are worldwide, time stamp is based in europe
Nikoncafe is mainly USA some Canada

A good everything lens is 18-200 VR if you want just one lens, no cheap but cheaper than 3 lens

look into the motordrive- well not really a motor drive it hold 2 bateries and gives a little more finger gripping area while taking photos

I really like that last photo, I assume you took those in Hawaii. What Island?. I know what you are talking about for the two batteries. It looks like I will end up getting one down the road. The D2x looks like a sweet camera, a little too much camera for me though.

If I am thinking correctly, that is the Big Island. I have only been there a few times. Nice area, I plan to get out there for some R&R in the next few months.

I was born and raised in Denver, I Moved to Santa Barbara for a few years, after that I moved to Hawaii. I have been lucky to be in some real nice places, I have so many pictures from each place. I am going to be moving to Oahu and I hope to take a few photography classes.

I went and checked out Nikoncafe and registered. Took some time and browsed the site .
Thanks for the info.
