First time doing a wedding, good thing I had my flash because it was DARK!

Here are some pretty amature snaps, used a 70-200, 16-35, sb26 and seldom 24 1.4 because of backfocusing issues on my D90.

Any CC is welcomed! I'm not sure about my editing skills just yet. I took a lot more pictures but only had time to edit the ones shown. I was the 3rd shooter, as they hired a company.

BTW.. i was more of the entire wedding coverage instead of focusing at the bride/groom, since they had hired photogs for that.

Hi there,

Photos 1, 2, 3, and 6 don't seem to have adequate lighting. Were you just using a ceiling bounce?

You definitely have some low exposures in there. Very dark in most of them (2, 3, 6, 7 especially).

1. Okay shot, not particularly exciting but you did get the action.

2. Way too dark. Girl is way too far left.

3. Dark and the guy is partially out of the picture. Probably should have centered them both. You also have fingers and a camera sticking up into the bottom of the picture.

4. Dark and unevenly lit. Poor angle (shooting down). Their feet aren't visible (ie, they're improperly composed in the photo).

5. Okay. Not especially exciting but I'm not sure anyone could've made it exciting.

6. Good shot in that it has lots of potential. Problem is, it's way too dark. A simple "fill light" adjustment in Lightroom would help immensely.

7. Again, some potential but it's dark and the lighting is uneven (seems to get darker towards the left).

8. Overexposed on his shirt and underexposed on the little boy. More of a lighting problem than anything.

Ceiling bounce tends to give those bags under the facial features like you see on photo 2, You could consider getting a diffuser or a larger reflector card (The one on speedlight doesnt work that well), and it will really help lighten up the shadows and give that sparkle in the eyes.

its really tough when people are at a certain distance from you too, you have to make sure if you are shooting from a distance with the bounce, you gotta aim / compensate the angle that you are shooting up on the ceiling.

I personally use a gary fong, it works well, but there are countless other diffuser types that work just as well. Get one, it will make your life much easier!

Happy shooting.

I'm not going to talk about lightness or shaking of frame since it is tough condition to shoot and i do not know how it looks on your screen.

however, this is how I feel.

1. it would've been better if it was framed to the left little more to the left so the guy take little more space.
2. it would've been better if the girl came little closer to center and captured the reflection of her on the piano.
3. it would've been better if the couple was centered and loose the hand with iphone. - if it wasn't possible, put more weight on to it.
4. it would've been better if frame was more down and left. - do not need that empty shelf on top.
5. it would've been better if framed right little more to capture the hand more.
6. good frame. if the right edge is burned, it would be better.
7. it would've been better if framed down more. - men's hands are amputated.
8. it would've been better if subjects were zoomed in on landscape frame without cutting off boy's feet.

i hope it helps.
