Also other than the actual Canon lenses I was curious if anyone is running any other types ... like Sigma? I have no knowledge as to what glass is best so don't or if you feel like it, go ahead and

[QUOTE=iLuveketchup,Sep 30 2006, 06:32 PM] That's correct EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM is an L lens.

Agreed on the 50mm 1.8 At that price it's rude not to

Took these with it, with no flash

I have a Sigma 105 macro that I use occassionally too

My walkaround lens is a 24-105 IS L and is probably responsible for most of my shots on here, save the close ups of aircraft at airshows, where I'll be using a 400 L prime.

Most Ls are better than their non L counterparts optically... exception probably being the ultra wide primes...
The ultra-wide primes are L series lenses too. If they have a red ring around the barrel of the lens, they are L series. ie: the 14mm 2.8 USM rectilinear correcting lens

As a semi-pro sports photographer that's all that I do. I rent all of my glass because to go to an event with upwards of $40k of glass is insane! Not to mention that I wouldn't make any money. I do have some lenses that I use regularly, but renting to me is the best way to keep current with technology and get the best results for the least amount of upfront expense.

yeah.. but it is known that canon ultrawide primes aren't very good, at least wide open. i think you misread my post
