If you're heads been buried in the sand for the last day, you may have no idea what this is. Otherwise, this happened about .4 miles from my house, and I walked by last night to take a look.
Not for the faint-hearted. Devastating and sickening to see it.

Gary, I had looked at your pics (link) over in Vintage. ^This one got me. The stuff in the tress, the ground littered with debris. Wow! Looks like tornado damage.

I thought it did the best at 1 shot describing the situation. The burnt wall you see to the right is the end of the 2nd unit of 5. The next three houses are missing. Speculation is that the first was gone with the blast, and the other 2 were in the fire.
The debris is all over; the trees, the hedges even the sidewalk (and street - presumably cleared back to the sidewalk). Pieces of windows, siding, roof/shingles, even things from inside the house, all over the place.
From the live newscast yesterday, the houses to the left didn't look impacted that much, however, getting up close, you can tell the whole back of that row was destroyed in he blast as well as the row of houses behind.
