Default Need to pick up a new computer

So my PC died on me last week and I need to go buy a new computer. I am leaning towards buying the Apple 15" MacBook Pro with 2 gigs of ram. My question is do you guys think a 15" notebook is adequate enough for using photoshop and getting good results? I am currently using a PC with a 20" screen and I am nervous about dropping down to the 15". Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Also if you have an apple currently are you happy with it? Thanks in advance.

You can always hook the 20" screen to the laptop when working with images.

Never been a Mac person, but I understand why some are.

my friend has the 17 inch screen apple laptop. i'm not impressed with it. if you are worried about getting performance out of using photoshop you should buy another tower instead of a notebook.

Do you absolutely need a laptop? If not, you can build yourself a monster desktop for 1/2 the cost of a laptop.

Well I ended up ordering a MacBook Pro last night. I will use the laptop a lot more than the tower. I will let you guys know how it turns out. Oh and you are right I probably could of bulit an insane tower for the money I spent on the Apple.

Well, OS X is a great OS to work in, and you have access to Photoshop CS and Aperture now, plus the ability to run the Macbook Pro closed and just connect an external monitor, keyboard, etc to it, so I think you'll be happy.

i use MBP 15, 2GB ram, 160 GB HD for photo retouching and sound edits, since MBP 15's got pretty high resolution 1440x900 (compare to conventional LCD, or most 15" laptops in the market). I find them to be the best size that compromises both portability and screen resolution.

I got a G5 running two 20" for video/film edits and big sound projects, for everything else im really satisfied with MBP, work on the go, which is handling well 80% of everyday work.

it's built with professionals in mind, very solid, stable, plus OSX, exceptional quality!

i have been using macs for 5 years now, everytime i turn it on it puts a smile on my face. When I work I need something stable and something i can trust, where my files and work progress are safe. On the everyday life side, OSX is the answer to fun, ease of use, simplicity, innovative softwares...

it literally makes my life better and simpler, no more madness over stupid machines
