Gorilla Pod DSLR ZOOM (it takes tri-pod heads...hold up to 6.5 lbs)

This will hold a 200mm zoom on tri-pod collar

TIFFEN FILERS 77mm w/pouch (decent quality and at a reasonable price)

Nice

I've been thinking about the Gorilla Pod, but I'm not sure it will support either of the rigs I'd like to use it for

It holds my Sigma 70-200 on the tri-pod collar if that helps. If you want I will mount it and show you.

Oh yeah? That's inspiring! The two different configs I want to do are:

1DMKII with 70-200mm f2.8 IS
20D with 100mm Macro, 550ex, and flash bracket with off-shoe.....I'm sure this will be fine

It won't hold the 1d mkii / 70 200 2.8L IS too well, too heavy.

That's what I was worried about. That combo, I'm guesstimating, is about 2-3lbs heavier than the Rebel, Grip, Sigma 70-200mm.

When I see that rig I get a spontaneous "all your base are belong to us" vibe!

6.5 lbs total weight capsity on the DSLR "ZOOM" Gorilla Pod. (this is different from the standard DSLR Gorilla Pod)

if you have a tri-pod collar mount you should fine. I don't see a Mark II and 70-200 going over 6.5 lbs. I could be very wrong though.

The 1D MKII with the 70-200 f/2.8L IS weighs approx 6.7 lbs. Add in the tripod collar and hood, it'll be approx 7.5 lbs.
