Just picked up one of these:


Only taken a few shots so far but i'm very happy with it!

Sample:


1/30 f/4 ISO200 hand-held.

Here is a 100% crop with no post-processing done:


More to come of course!

wow the first shot looks great. is this a f/2.8? and if so, do you have any softening issues at wide open?

I'm looking for a good walk around lens to replace the kit crap.

I just bought at tamron 17-35 and Im not sure if Im happy with it yet. Your shots came out great though. What body are you using?

It is the f/2.8.

I couldn't tell you if there are softening issues or not yet since i've only taken a few shots, but I can certainly report back after using it a while.

Two very different lenses. When buying Tamron, Tokina, or Sigma there are some great lenses and there are some crap lenses in those line-ups. Same goes for Canon and Nikon, but not nearly as much on the crap side.

Head over to Photography on the Net, Fred Miranda, the Digital Picture, DP Review, and a million other sites before buying camera equipment. Or just start a thread here.
