Default New To Photography

Hi Folks,

The missus just got me a Canon EOS1100D so i better start taking some photos. I havent got a clue about photography as i always had point and shoot cameras.

Is the best way to learn to just take some pictures and post up for some hints, tips and critisism??

I have no idea of your skill level, but I'd suggest you look for a beginner class at a local camera shop or a community college. I've got a long way to go, but learned a lot in a few weeks at a class. I had my camera for a while when I finally got around to taking a class and I was very glad I went. The class covered some good ground, the importance of composition, along with getting familiar using settings other than the auto/green square.

There are of course, on line tutorials, books, etc., when you have questions.

Enjoy your new camera.

The best thing you can do is to fully understand how to work your camera. Once you've got the basics down take as many pictures as you can. The more practice the better.
