Default Newb needs general tips

Hey guys

Any advice on how to capture color vibrancy in sunlight like below?

This shot shows what a beautiful color Silverstone is. Metal flake really pops in the sun, but every shot I take just makes it look grey with no real depth. I think most of my shots are just too bright in general (no flash) and end up washing out the colors.

Any estimations on what the shutter, aperture, etc. settings were on the above shot? Is my Canon A590 even capable of photographs like that? Any help appreciated.

use a filter (polarizing or neutral density).
