Default A nice pair of Lexus

Shot these clean cars a while ago with some challenging lighting. This time around, we focused on minimizing reflections, so hopefully we did an ok job.

Shots done with a Nikon D70 (see arrrmand pics) and a D50 (see natcc99 pics). Lenses used were 18-70mm DX, 70-300VR, and 10.5 fisheye.

Please provide comments/criticism!

Love the shots of the top going down! This is a fantastic series. If I had to nitpick, #9 and #10 don't do much for the set, though.

In #11, it looks like a CP has caused that weird white spot in the shadow on the door. You consider trying to burn that back it to fill it back out? Just a thought that might make a terrific photo even better.

Nice shots. I especially like the rolling shots. The last shot looks good enough for an ad or car brochure.

my friend pointed that out to me as well. i think it was the reflection from the reflector we were using to get some more light in the shadows. i never really used the burn/dodge tool, so i'll give it a try thanks for the suggestion!

No problem, it's a great tool to learn. Experiment with the exposure slider or you'll be frustrated to all hell with the default setting of 100%.

Great shots! The last one has me scratching my head a little; I am guessing you used your fisheye for that one, since the hood of the car does not show in front of the dash when it seems like it should from that angle?

e3opian: played around w/ the burn and dodge tools last night to not a lot of success. i don't suppose when you have time, whether you can help out with a workflow? it's always good to use more tools in photoshop

AssassinJN: yeah, it was definitely taken with the fisheye. i'm not quite sure if my friend (all the natcc99 watermarked shots are his, and the arrrmand ones are mine) edited out the hood or whether the shot was like that out of camera. looking at it now, i think he photoshopped out the side mirror, so it's pretty safe to assume that he took out the hood as well he's quite the master on the interior shots, so i never really question the final product haha.
