Rule of 3rds, learn to shoot in manual mode, understand exposure and lighting....and most of all.... HAVE FUN!

Start out in auto mode. Learn how to frame an object. Read your manual! After you understand all the buttons on your camera switch over to manual and set your appreture and shutter speed yourself. I like my pix a little on teh dark side so manual is for me. Th e Nikons are a bit confusing but if you need anything let us know. Most of use are canon users but there are a few Nikonians. I just got a D300...

Pictures are about more than just the subject you're shooting. Background can make a world of difference.
