Talking OC fire....

I have had my Press credentials for years and it came in handy
at times I was 5 feet from the FLAMES, it was really scarry, I could feel the wind sucking towards the fire I washed my clothes 2xs to get the smell out
my car still smells, finally last night I put the hardtop on. I had a face mask and breathing mask (N95) it was still hard to breath. after a couple minutes you have 1/3 of the energy. I'll have to pull the air filter off and clean it over the weekend, its dirty also

I have been working on my website... did it my self on iWeb08 I really like it I've had a lot of people email me the past couple days for photography

Day later I'm still coughing, I had a N95 mask guess it was not enough
I tried to run 12 houses up a hill to photograph more firemen, 3 house up the hill I was out of breath. 6 house away from my next photo opportunity i had to walk ... slowly... light headed... (thinking to my self, should I sit down?)

I had seen several firemen with just a bandana, wow I had a special mask N95. I hope the firemen are OK

This isnt a warm summer day.... this FIRE...
now time has pasted, I now realize what I was doing

I'd like to photograph fire one day - but I pray that it'll be never like this.

Did you get any of the fire fighters in action?

some firemen in action, but I did not want to get in their way at all
fire burned the brush right up to the homes, fireproof roofs and stuco sides really safe the homes
I was hot, really hot 100-150degs during the couple shots I got

also I didnt have a fire suit, one ember burned my hair. Days later and several showers I can still smell the smoke while using the hair dryer

did you see my website? it has 350 shots

That's an incredible opportunity, but sort of sucks that the fire has to happen. It's really tough to get the smell of fire out of anything... I have a lot of firefighting friends, and their closets just smell like something's burning

Can't wait to see a few more pics. Were you doing these pics for anything in particular? Oh, and have you started blowing your nose and having it come out black yet? Been there, done that

Terrific photos. IMHO if they catch the arson that is responsible for some of the fires, he or she should be burned at the stake. I wonder if it would be called cruel and unusual punishment to have him or her light that fire?
