Default Photo Rig questions

Hey guys.
I want to build a photo rig for my car. I read online that the suction cups can dent car body panels, especially aluminum. Do you think the rig could dent our hood? Does anyone have any tips for doing rig shots, or what brands to buy? When I priced every thing out it came to $300. Does that seem about right?

"Every thing" is a very vague term. It seems like it would be more helpful if you described what you were planning on trying to shoot or what you were getting and then asking if you were missing anything significant.

I've never put a cup on my hood, so I can't say about denting it, but when a PDR guy put a small vacuum cup on my rear quarter panel, it definitely left some really light marks in the paint, but I was able to get that out rather easily with some Meguiar's M205.

I was hoping to hear from guys that have shot S2000's with a rig before. If the cups leave scratches then I'm not going to do it.

When I say the cup affected my paint, I mean I could see the water bead slightly differently and if I looked very careful in the proper light, I could see some swirl from the cup. M205 is a pretty fine polish and it fixed it up easily.

I never had any problems mounting the suction cups on my hood, just make sure the car is clean.

Hello,

I have a rig with a boom set up for sale PM ME if you are interested.

I have never had any marks being placed on the cars. One thing you need to make sure of is that the car is clean and you always store your suctions cups correctly to keep them super clean.
