Pics from The Netherlands
I got the chance to go to The Netherlands for work back in 2006. Here are a few of the pictures I took while I was there. Images were taken with an Olympus 500UZ.
For those of you who have watched the movie "A Bridge Too Far" these pictures are from the Arnhem / Oosterbeek.
The thing that sticks out in my mind during my stay in Arhnem was how much they adore Americans and British. When the locals found out I was American, they told me they really, really like Americans, but they LOVE the British for all that was done for them during WWII. That really made me feel good that somepeople remember what was sacrificed to give back to them what was taken away. If you are ever in the area, I highly recomend spending some time in Arhem / Oosterbeek.
This is a line of trees located between the museum and the cemetary.

This is in memory of Polish troops that were slaughterd during Operation Market Garden.

The museum in Oosterbeek

This is the actual bridge used in the movie - it is located in Devendor. By the time the movie was fillmed Arnhem had been rebuilt after operation Market Garden and subsequent battles the bridge and majority of the city were destroyed. The only major structure in Arnhem that reamians from before is the church.

Mindmill near the German boarder.

Now onto some pictures from Amsterdam.

The small specks are not dust on the lense - it was snowing at the time I took this picture
