Default Pics from Toronto

Went to toronto about a month ago to visit one of my high school buddies...loved the city. Great food, attractions, shops, and strip clubs . We wanted to roadtrip to Montreal while I was up there, but didn't get the chance. Anyway, here are a few pics I took while I was there with my Panasonic lumix. Comments and advice are welcome.

The first two, the sky is completely blown out. On my calibrated monitor, i can't even see the frame of the picture...it blends in with the forum background.

Your street portrait - you're out of focus, and try to avoid putting your subject right smack in the middle of the frame.

Your last picture is out of focus too.

Ok...on the last one I used the autofocus feature and set the area to right where that first sign is. Are you saying that the sign itself is out of focus, because I kind of wanted the background to blur in that picture. What are some tips for getting better focus on the subject in general...or is it just experience?
