Thumbs down Question about Wide Angle purchase

Hey guys, I love my D40, really getting in to it, even bought a gianormus book on learning photoshop. Anyway, I bought two Tamron lenses, 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD, as well as the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 for my "walk-around lens", anyway I am looking at a relatively inexpensive Wide Angle lens, I see Nikon makes some, however it has a warning that the Auto-focus is not supported by the D-40, or D-60, does that mean this lens will not work with my Camera, or just not auto-focus with it?

Heres the link, thanks guys

PS
Ummmm I click on "wide Angle" and it gives me only a few option, yet if I dont use the search feature, I find some less expensive lens' that say "wide angle" in their description, whats the deal?

The auto focus motors have to be in the lenses for the d40/60 cameras, I'm sure you can still use them, but there will only be manual focus

gotcha, this seem like a good lens?

Sigma 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM Autofocus Lens for Nikon Digita

also whats the advantages of a 24mm wide angle, as opposed to a 35mm wide angle, I want to use the wide angle for landscapes, but also for very tight spaces (cockpit of an airliner)

Thanks

tokina 12-24mm f/4

it's inexpensive used. it has very slow and loud autofocus though. i wouldn't use it to shoot anything moving.

sounds good, I will use it more for landscape photos, or in an airplane at 37,000ft where there really isnt much movement

24mm or 30mm isn't wide angle.

What you need is a 10mm or so. Check out the Tamron 10-24 or Sigma 10-20. The Sigma 10-20 Autofocus would work on your Nikon because it has HSM

you need a 10mm on the crop body. Other issue is there are no good and CHEAP wide angles.
