Default question for CANON users

my dad used to have a CANON film SLR...about 10 years ago.
I remember 1 feature very well, its the pupil tracking focus system.
I thought it was the coolest thing ever because I can just look in the viewfinder to pin point where I wanted my focus point to be. Did CANON ever use that technology/feature on any of the DSLR?

thanks

I had two, the Elan IIe and EOS 3. They were pretty reliable in tracking where I was looking at. However this feature slows down the focus time. The camera needs to determine where you are looking first before it starts the autofocus. It is much easier and faster to aim with the center sensor, lock the focus and exposure, and re-compose.

I have the elan IIe. Works fine w. glasses, but you do have to follow the calibration instructions. Useful for off-center focusing, as opposed to the slow focus, hold, compose.
