Default thought this was a cool shot...

The smoke is actually coming from a coal powered power plant that is about 5 miles behind the silo:

Still learning to edit pictures, I cloned out some trees on the lower right and a part of a smoke stack that was sticking up on the left. I also adjust the color of the sky...of course CRITIQUES are always welcome:

Re-edited picture, lightened the silo and fixed my grass on the right side:

Do you mind if I borrow your picture? I'm trying to learn photoshop and this was a good picture for me to practice on. I would like to post this pic with my after on a photography forum, but figured I would ask you first.

BTW, I see your from York. I used to live in New Freedom.

Just putting in my two cents.
The grass is nicely blurred on the left to the middle but it gets jagged towards the right (i'm guessing this is where you cloned out the tree).

Maybe take the grass foreground out of the picture all together?

yes, the right is where I tried to clone out the tops of trees, looks like I will have to go back and zoom in a bit more and try to do a better job.

I like it.

I'd crop or take the image to have the silo very slightly more to the left. I noticed the grass edges on the right as well. You might be able to fake a quick repair with some gaussian blur on just that edge.

Also, might just be my work monitor's lame calibration, I'd like to see some of the blacks lifted just a little on the silo, so I can see the structure details.

I agree. The awkward looking grass on the right from where you edited is the only thing i dislike.

I like the brighter silo, and the grass is definitely an improvement
