Default Vertical Grip

Probably the first "mod" i want to get for my 40D would be a vertical grip. I've been looking on amazon and pops up so many vertical grips. Off brand and official canon grips.

I do want to save some money cause I want to get a 50mm lens, so has anyone tried out the off brand grips?

Thanks guys

get the real deal. the third party grips feel flimsy, don't match and sometimes have loose contacts.

i used to rock a vert grip on my xti and 30D when i had them.

I took it off my 5D since it's more comfy without it; not to mention lighter.

Listen to Triax... He has a lot of experience gripping things vertically.

But on a serious note, I personally would never use an off-brand interface such as a grip with my cameras. Tolerances need close otherwise moisture can get onto the contacts. Some are even weather sealed. Go with the Canon if you are going to buy one.

thanks guys. I guess I'll decided which one would be best to buy first the lens or the grip after a few weeks with my 40D.
