Default Video Software

Just out of curiosity, What programs do you guys use to edit videos?
It would be nice to have something like this:

Name of Software
Price
And an example of what you or someone else made with it.

Thanks!

I use virtualdub to convert a series of still frames into a video. Once I have a series of small videos created I use Microsoft movie maker to stitch the videos together, add music and various effects to the final product. Both are free and are sufficient enough for my needs. Not sure if this is what you are looking for when you say "edit videos" I have one I created awhile back on my flickr page. Click on the link in my signature if you want to check it out.

Old question, but I like Cyberlink Power Director 12 Ultimate Suite
It is about $175 but lower levels of the software with fewer tools work great for just a hobbyist.

Bump on this.

Anyone have any other suggestions, I shoot with a nikon DSLR and i need some recommendations for some editting programs.

Also, what about for go pros? Anyone have any suggestions what to edit that with. I haven't gotten one yet so I'm not sure what software comes with it.

I don't have good experiencing editing videos, but I also shoot with a Nikon DSLR. I had Adobe Premiere CS6 on my old PC, and Final Cut Pro on my Mac.

Sony Vegas Pro 12
and
Adobe After Effects CS6
Haven't used them in a while, but I always try to get the latest versions when they come out.
I download them off torrents, so I don't pay a thing.
