Ok, take a look at this image carefully....

Now, viewed as a PSD, TIFF, or whatever, it's sharp as hell, smooth, clean, etc.

Saved to JPEG, scaled down for quicker uploads (800px wide) and hosted on flickr (which sharpens photos) and for some reason, the photo looks like someone ran a smudgestick filter to it. What am I doing that's causing the photo to....dirty up?

That picture is spooking me out. The closer I look at it the deeper I go.

Is she sticking her tongue out or eating a pickle?

Does the photo look good to you in jpg before you upload to flicker?

Great shot, hope you get to the bottom of it.

i'm assuming flickr's saturation or contrast boost is causing or showing your brush tool traces.

Maybe this is the cause of my problem. I use sRGB color space, and I save it on 12 JPEG quality. I need to get to the bottom of this, because it's making my shots look 80% as good. If not, maybe it's my monitor....but I don't think so, it isn't exactly a $99 Kmart special.
