Default 12 000 km maintenence check

....is it worth the $80? they said it would be $120 incl. the oilchange but i just got it done not even 2000 kms ago....so i wont have that done....

Anyways,,,,if its not worth it....i could probably wait till next year since i'll be parking the car soon anyways and I wont be driving much for the rest of August (holidays). Who knows....maybe i'll just get a valve adj. instead.....depends on cost,,,,,,Gary, wanna chime in here?

Most of these "early" maintenance visits are for visual checks of things. Go through your schedule and do these checks yourself unless you don't know what you're looking for or at. In this climate, things that really need doing, they don't do at these checks anyway so I do a much more thorough "service" on my car than they would at the dealer. Nowhere in the manual does it say to treat the rubber boots under the car. This will be one of the first things to go if untreated but then, they'll make big bucks off you when you need to replace the things the boots protect. Anyone can take a can of white lithium grease and spray the door hinges and all the strikers. Checking and toppin up all the fluids should be a piece of cake. So should checking tires for pressure and "reading" them for wear will tell you lots of the alignment of the car. Does your hand brake work OK and within the correct number of clicks?
But if you can't do these yourself, you should have it done. 80 bucks is cheap insurance.

well u seem to do way more than what the manual says....

1) inspect front/rear brakes
2) check tire inflation/condition ( already do that weekly)
3) Inspect tie rod ends, steering gear box and boots
4)inspect suspension components
5) Inspect driveshaft boots

....well if u think its worth the 80 bucks....I guess I'll do it Just sounds like alot for just looking at something, u know? ....oh well, if its gotta be done.....

80 bucks is a lot for those who can do this on their own but for those who can't, it might be cheap insurance.

They cannot deny me my warranty just because I do each maintenance check myself. All I have to do is keep my receipts for anything that I might buy and log the dates I did the work. (Receipts like for oil, filter, lubricants, fluids, etc.)
