2006 S2000 Information
I usually like seeing car's progress and get better overtime.
The '06 S2000 seems like a step backwards.

I'm buying one, going to give up the 330Ci for it. Some of you guys are going to laugh but the one change they made is the only thing I ever wanted from this car, TRACTION CONTROL.
Everything else I'm cool with. I'll be back in the club in no time!
It doesn't have traction control man.
VSA (vehicle stability assist) operates quite a bit differently from traction control.
But go for it! I won't laugh, it's still an S2000!

For '06, standard Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control can brake individual wheels and/or reduce throttle to help you counter oversteer and understeer and stay on your intended path.
I thought they all worked the same way? Except with different names? BMW calls it DSC and Benz calls it ESP. Still, it's a yellow blinking light on the dash which lights up when your rear end wants to kick out. I know Xviper isn't a fan of it but not all of us have madd skillz like him and I could make use of that feature. Not like I'd be pushing the car in poor conditions anyhow.

I think people are presuming the technology will save them from their over aggressiveness. I'm not that type of driver, the technology provides me with peace of mind more than anything. I probably make myself sound like a bad driver with my reliance on it, well I guess what I'm really saying is, I'm not one that's interested in pushing the limits.
From time to time during the winter months I drive without the DSC on, just to compare it with it on or off. Really, like you said, doesn't make much of a difference since I don't push the car. But when I see that yellow light blink, I think, wow, it's working.
Anyhow, I'm buying one. I no longer have to debate between the Boxster or SLK. I can get what I want and save the $20K+ and dump the rest into my house.

Now the question is, when does this sexy ride arrive in the showrooms? I can wait until next spring when there's only 1 year left on my 330 lease. I should have no problems unloading it at that time. Woohooo! haha
