Yeah, I'm driving back out this week and will try to hook up. My weekend was pretty full last week.

If you drive like a madman, with no breaks, you can make it in about 10-10.5 hours. I usually like to have lunch and snack breaks and I can leisurely make it to Vancouver in about 12 hours but I usually stop in Hope overnight.

Yep, going again. Flew there for Indy last week. Driving for a wedding and mini-holiday this week. Taking the scenic route throught the Okanagan. Can't wait to rip down the 97A. Stopping overnight in Vernon. I'm expecting about 11 hours driving time.

Flying out again in September for another wedding.

My record to Vancouver is 9 hrs (last Xmas in my 4-Runner)...averaging 15 kms/hr over...I think it is 970 kms from Calgary to the Tswassen ferry terminal. I am out here right now (did the drive last Saturday). Like Tim, I went through the Okanagan...it takes a bit longer but is a nice change from the other route. Didn't see alot of RCMP except for one trap on the Okanagan connector....have a good trip Tim.

Woodson,

Took the 97 south last week. Turned off the #1 at Osoyoos and drove it south to Penticton. Let me tell you...while fun to drive, that has to be one of the most busiest highways in this whole friggin country! 97 was a pain in the butt, and I don't look forward to driving it again. That and the fact that the speed limits are only 50KPH through the small towns like WestBank, Grindrod and Summerland/PEachland doesn't make for an exactly exhilirating driving experience.

Have fun anyway,....the weather is better there than here!

You mean Sicamous. Osoyoos is where you turn onto the 3. Knew what you meant though.
Was it a weekend?
Yeah, I know what you mean about the traffic on the 97 but maybe I'll get lucky. I've seen it both ways - busy and not so busy.

Thanks for the good wishes guys - see you in August.

Doh! Yes...Sicamous. We travelled down the 97 for a day trip to Osoyoos from Penticton. Sorry..wandering mind.

Yes, take care, drive safe and most of all, have fun!
