Default Am I crazy to get an '04?

After reading all of the changes, getting my hands all over all the new images, seeing a picture of the front lip, rear wing, etc... I *want* an '04.

I'm in no position to buy one yet. I think April '04 is approx. when I can swing this purchase.

Am I crazy to do this? My car is out of warranty this month, it has various rattles and noises. The rear window is showing that plastic and I don't get along.

I love the look of the new S2000. The bumpers, the headlamps, taillamps, new exhaust tips, wheels/tires...

I love the updated interior... the centre console, the optional rear tweeters, xm satellite radio (assuming they have this in canada)... not a *huge* fan of the way they display the tachometre now, but I'm sure I could adjust.

Anyone else considering a switch?

The only way I would consider it is if they had fixed the stupid convertible top storage. Lame.

As to a couple of your points: Yes, I like the front end too (more than mine? I don't know yet). I like the OEM lip on the '04 more than previous ones. I prefer my exhaust tips, headlights, tail-lights, tach etc. I never keep the stock head unit, so xm featured on it is of no use to me. I have xm in my aftermarket HU, but can't order the subscription in Canada. I'd be willing to bet that the headrest speakers are huge dollars and have crap speakers in them. I don't like the new wheels at all, but love that they are 17".

As for the performance changes, I guess we won't know until we drive one. Coming from bikes, I love the high strung nature of our car the way it is. If the suspension is softened as much as I hear, there is no way in hell I would buy one.

Oh yeah, the radio door looks ghetto.

Knowing what I know of your personal situation, I'd say DON'T DO IT! Having said that, if you have decided to change your priorities, then I can see the temptation in going for an '04. I've long since learned not to get all worked up about every new shiney car that comes along. When it comes to cars, patience is REALLY a hard thing to get a handle on but it is still a VIRTUE! If you can hold off for a while longer, you may find yourself with a different perspective on the whole issue.
ps. I'm not interested in the new, shiney thing in the least. However, unlike Woodson, I'd love to take those wheels (and tires) off the first guy who wants to go aftermarket right away.

Well my priorities have changed a lot in the past month or so. Roommates are staying put, so I have no need to move anywhere else... no plans for new Calgary stores as we're really working on BC, SK and MB right now... which is fine because of right now I'm making awesome money and the two of us at this one location both know what we're doing, so I don't have a ton of stress.

Basically that means I have no "need" for a house... and I'm starting to think that if I buy one up in the NW, and my new store is in the SW, I'll be pretty upset!

Nothing will really make sense til Feb-Mar next year anyhow... I'm just trying to "justify" wasting money on a new car again.

Its such an expensive hobby!

The sooner you get in a house you own, the better. Tax-free appreciation!
