Any Manitobans in this forum?!!?!
Shelley, I have pretty much been lurking here since I bought in early September.
Didn't take long to find the S2K web site and I have been reading posts almost daily since. It feels like I know some of the Redliners personally.
Alberta membership seems to be causing most of the traffic on the board and it makes sense. Nice roads, good economy and fair weather for the most part. Good bunch of guys!
Too bad we prairie people (Winnipeg and Regina) have to go so far on flat roads to find neat drives. The Qu'Appelle Valley must be a riot of a drive for you. I have logged many visits there with a Model Sailplane group in the past.
As far as joining, right now the benefits are nebulous. Living in Winnipeg means a very long drive to any organized outings or meets. I have driven 3 hours on straight roads to McCreary this fall in the S2K and found it rather tiring. Don't know how I would handle 6 hours to Regina.
BTW, how did a beau from Regina get involved in a Southern California, albeit international S2K interest group? We Canadians generally wouldn't take ourselves seriously enough to volunteer for a board of directors position. It makes me kind of proud to see a prairie person on the board.
I hope to get some serious tire time this summer and perhaps take in an event or two. Perhaps we should be organizing an outing for the clutch of S2K's here in Winnipeg. . .

Bob, I understand the travelling part, however I did the run to the hat in August. That trip was long, but fun. Some folks did the return trip back to regina. I couldn't but everyone had fun. The best part is when you can convoy. The goal now is to continue exposure of the redliners. Bring some new folks in and have reprsentation from all three provinces. We would like to do one mega meet once a year. That would make for a bit of a holiday, and fun. As for joining, we are not charging a membership fee here, just what s2ki does. We want to get ourlogo in place, and get some merchandise made. The joining of the club doesn't mean you have to have a s2k, just interest. You can all let koala know if you want a badge. The more badges, friends and merchandise out there the better.
As for the beau? hehe, not sure what that means? but if you mean myself, that would be beauette. The 3 people that ow this site are cthree, krazik, both southern california, and myself, Regina, Canada
The guys in socal can thank me for this mess. Ok, enough of tooting my horn!

Straight road to McCreary? Well, there's the one turn by Portage and another @ Neepawa...
The drive to Regina is equally boring.
Ever since I picked up my car, I find myself looking at moving to a place that isn't flat

You know the old saying: "That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger". Even though they were 40 years ago, my Winnipeg days helped toughen me up for driving top-down in my S2000 on those bone-chilling 60-degree (F) days in Southern California.
