Hey guys, i have a $1000 audio insurance claim for my sis's car which she just traded in for a CRV, so she said i could use it for my car. the stereo in it now is pretty good already(clarion deck/sub/speakers/amp) but iam thinking of upgrading the deck and getting an alarm.....any recomendations on what i should get? i want the ipod hook up and i heard the alpine 9857 is a good unit anyone have it?.....to bad i couldn't take the $1000 and spend it on some mods other then audio

 

I have the 9853 (slightly older model) and it's a great head unit... I'd say go for it. Make sure you get a modifry DCI with it if you want to use your stock radio controls.

 

I think my car has one already....i have a clarion HU right now and the side controls work for it.....does it matter what deck is used with the DCI?

 

They have different dip switch settings... you'll have to check which DCI you have and see if it's compatible with alpine
