I was watching a recent episode of Motorweek and Pat Goss had a segment on battery maintenance. He stated trickle chargers are a no-no for stored vehicles, they will ruin your battery by overcharging. He recommended a battery maintainer which shuts off automatically when the battery is fully charged. It cycles to keep the battery fully charged without the risk of overcharging. My S is now in hibernation mode, anyone seen a battery maintainer locally or do I have to order from Griots Garage ?
Gary is right. I got one for my motorcycles years ago from Bow Cycle. I now use it on my car when I go on vacation. It works great. Charges up the battery slowly and then will shut off. It samples the voltage several times a second and when the voltage drops below a designated level, it turns itself back on.
Mine is called an Optimate:
Other good brands - "Battery Tender", "Intellicharger".

C'mon Brady, buy blackS2000's tires and come do doughnuts with us.
I think Asif's old car would go into ventricular defibrilation if it ever went outside on a winter's day. That little "weiner" in the exhaust pipe would shrivel up to nothing.

Though the car might approve of the doughnuts, if they were of the Tim Horton's variety (Gawd, Asif's gonna shoot me next time I'm in the city of Cows!!!)

I just couldn't do it. My 911 was alot of fun in the snow. If not for the ridiculous maintenance costs I may have kept it instead of buying the TSX for winter duty. It does suck knowing I will not get to wind the S out until the spring. I still have to break it in (3186 KM at the moment). Tim, I think Daryl told me you can get your hockey gear in the S, where do you put your sticks ?? I think you are able to maximize the S2000's limited utility better than anyone else.

What else do I need to say. I did find a ding on the car that Asif somehow missed. I had to show him. It is now gone through the magic of paintless dent repair. I think Asif thought I was trying to pull one on him when I told him the pampered S had a boo-boo.
