What's avg driving time from Calgary to Fernie? Are the roads hard to navigate because of the twists and turns? I never drove there before. Is that the fastest route as showin in the link above?

 

It's maybe a bit shorter if you go on 22, but 2 is divided and you can keep the speed up safer. It's the same route we use to go to Castle Mtn - and that's just a bit over 2 hours from city limits. Road to Fernie is pretty good - nothing too hairy. I'd budget 3 to 3.5 hours from city limits though to be on the safe side. We saw 2 sanding trucks in the ditch last time up to Castle... never know what winter in the mtns brings!
