Changing cold oil...
so i still havent done my winter prep for storage and i guess ill be doing that tonight. I've got my forced air heater ready to go to keep me somewhat warm, but im going to be doing the oil change and don't really feel like letting the car sit and idle there for 25 min to warm up if i don't have to (can't drive it, took the insurance off last week).
is there any issues with changing the oil while its cold, other than that it might take a little longer to flow out? i have no problem letting it sit there draining for a good 30-40 min as i can attend to other things while its doing it, but i've read that some of the sludge etc comes off with warm oil and not with the cold. wives tale?

did my winter prep yesterday. thought i would be freezing, but the propane forced air heater kept it quite toasty in there. i let the car warm up for about 8-10 min while i prepped all the stuff i needed, helped out a bit. i just didn't want to start it so that i wouldn't have to open the overhead door and let all the heat out, but i thought it would be best to do so anyways.
in any case, she's done for 2010, see ya in 2011!
