Default Civic Si

Have any of you driven the new Civic Si ? I took one out for a spin today and was surprised to see some of the numbers on this thing. Redline is close to 8 grand and it sure has a nice sound to it once you hit V-Tec. I think the price was around $27K for the typical model....seems like good value...for a Honda. Not too bad looking either.

I've been looking to find one of these little devils to test drive for some time now, but it seems every dealer is backordered, and the ones they have on stock are pre-sold already and not available for a drive.

Where did you get the test drive?

Hello Asif,

The Honda dealer in the Comox Valley (Island Honda) has a silver one on the lot.

I have not driven one, Village Honda had one in their showroom which I had a good look at. Seems to be a nice package but I have no use for another 2 door car as we are expecting our first child this fall. My friend Stu has already delivered one 06' Si and has another coming (silver) in early March. It will be available if anyone is interested (probably below sticker) as the original client it was intended for has bought a Lexus instead. I am glad to see Honda will be introducing a 4 door variant of the Si, too late for me as I went domestic for the first time and recently purchased a Dodge SRT-4 for daily duty which I have been very happy with so far.

Hey Brady I thought that you were buying an STi?

On another note, the local VW dealer just got their first new GTI in today. Nice looking. Apparently they will have a 4 door version in a few months.

Harvey, I ordered an 06' STI last month but ended up relinquishing it to another customer as I went with the much cheaper SRT-4. I decided once again to keep my S2000 for now but would like to eventually get a nice G50 930 or 993 Turbo (if you know of a good one, let me know). I ended up buying an 04' SRT-4 and it has actually exhausted my desire for an STI that lingered within me for so long. Although a little "boy racerish" for a fellow like me, it has proven to be a very fun car and is making about 260WHP/285WTQ in its current Mopar Stage 2 / Borla exhaust guise.

I do enjoy the S2000 more for certain, it is a far more intuative driving experience compared to the Dodge. The SRT-4 would absolutely crush it in a drag race however. Most Stage 2 SRT-4's with only exhaust will run about 13 flat or lower with DR's or slicks in the 1/4 mile. A Stage 3 ($3000) SRT-4 with no other mods ran a 12.56 @ 109MPH at Racecity last October without slicks (imagine what it would do at sealevel). Most Stage 3 owners in the U.S. with a few supporting mods are running low 12's. I am not into drag racing so my car will never see that kind of duty.
