What do you mean by handle weird?

And at what limits would you feel this?

I don't think I would push the car hard enough to feel a difference. I've had a few friends with lowered S2K's and never heard of them mentioning any handling issues. If anything, they say the car handles even better!
The placebo effect after they spend hundreds of dollars to lower their car...

Usually what ends up happening is lowering springs have higher spring rates, but no one bothers to change the shocks to cope with these spring rates. So then you've got a mismatched suspension setup.

Never going to notice for most types of street driving, but it'll be noticeable when driving at or near the limit.

The stock shocks will also wear out substantially quicker with lowering springs.

Some lowering springs perform quite well with koni yellows. but the best bet would be a set of actual coilovers properly adjusted by someone who knows what they're doing. A corner balance would be a good idea, too.

One inch would make that much of a difference on the S2K??? hehe
Yes, it would. There are days and roads that I travel during the winter where I stress my front lip to the limit. The hard packed snow underneath pushes up on the lip and then on the bumper enough to actually make it move (lift up). So far, I've gotten by. If I were lowered even 1/2", that extra stress could rip my whole front bumper off or at the very least, cause severe fractures at the attachment points.
The stock ground clearance of an S2K is in fact quite ample compared to the Vettes and the Viper I owned. Dropping the S an inch would put it in the same "ground clearance" catagory as those other cars. My experience has shown me that the S2000 has so far been the BEST RWD winter sports car I have ever owned. That ONE INCH loss of ground clearance would make it a garage queen for 6 months.
By my math ............... GARAGE QUEEN = GONE!

I think it would. You should see what the bottom of my OEM lip looks like from driving over packed snow/ice on the streets. Not a pretty sight!

Also the scraping of the oil pan is a great noise, too.

Lowering this car from stock would make it a totally useless vehicle as a daily winter driver. I've had enough "fancy pants" cars that had to sit all winter being completely useless. Never again. If I couldn't drive this car 12 months of the year, I would never have bought it. If it becomes another useless winter car (from being lowered), I'd get rid of it faster than you could blink.

Personally, as much as I think a "jacked up" SUV or 4X4 looks totally ignorant, a lowered S2000 would be the epitome of uselessness.

PS. Have I used the word "useless" enough times to get the point across yet?
dunno dave.

i've had a lowered S2000 for 5 years now.

i drive it year-round...and drive it more than most (50K on my '04 already).

never had clearance issues other than the usual speed bumps.

and both of my cars always had front lips.....

it's not that bad....try it

Clearly, you have no clue of the road conditions here in Alberta, specifically Edmonton! Trust me, they are hideous!
