If you have the money, go for a Mugen. Personally, it is the best combination of sound and weight reduction.
I run a Spoon N1 w/silencer most of the time. Actually with the JR filter it runs pretty nice. On the outside, sounds really nice, but can boom a bit without the silencer in the lower rpm range, when your not on the gas. At A&J it is going for ~ $1300. I'll take offers if anyone is interested
I have the Tanabe Hyper Medallion....it sounds great! The deeper note (especially on the downshifts) is exactly what I was looking for. The look has kind of grown on me. I paid $1400 cdn through Tunerworks in Calgary. If money wasn't an issue I'd probably go with the Supersprint...it looks great and from the sounds clips I have neard the note is nice as well.
Koala...if you buy the Tanabe Hyper and want the pipes to be flush (ie not sticking out) they will need to be trimmed by about 1.5 inches...this is where Tunerworks let me down (I won't go back). They said that gettting them cut was easy but the place they sent me did a butcher job....Rob at Tunerworks said he would fix and clean them up but I haven't heard back from him since....6 months ago!
I may end up ordering the Spugen Exhaust. Even with shipping from the US I can get it for less than the Tanabe at Tuner Works.
I really was all set on doing a titanium exhaust until I found out that they're entirely too loud. Even Spugen said that their exhaust they now make with just titanium tips is still pretty loud for some reason.
I would suggest getting a full stainless system vs the spugen aluminized steel piping. Especially since you live in Calgary with all the salt and rocks on the road.
