Default God damn wiper

Wipers don't work. Rear wipers don't work. Fluids don't work front or rear. Just conincidence that after I took it for a wash, they stopped working. My block heater chrod prongs was exposed to the water but what does that have to do with them!

Anyhow, I checked the fuse. It's blown. I replaced it with anotehr 15 A. It gets blown up right away.

Why would there be so much load all of a sudden?

Please someone help me!!!!! I can't really drive in this mucky 1-2C weather with the snow melting and getting crap all over my windhsield. I may have to resort to paper towels and spray bottle being left in my car

The wipers aren't frozen in place are they? Unless you opened the hood and washed under there, it is hard to imagine that it would be anything other than something that was exposed to the water........or something was just ready to short out....like a door/trunk wire or some other such moving part.

Heck, letting it dry out may work also.......water no longer providing a short circuit.....but that means some wire somewhere is exposed to water....circuits are logical....just follow them all along.

You aren't talking about a Brit car are you?

If all these things don't work, you might have a short (bare wire) behind the fuse panel. Might be a tough one to find.
Does it have a relay? Maybe it's gone bad.

OK, found the problem:

When I open the hatch, there are wires in a rubber boot that goes to the rear wiper motor, top brake light, etc. The rubber boot are susceptible to bending when you close the hatch. Did a discetion on the rubber boot. 5 wires total, 1 wire completely broken, 2 other wires have section exposed. When we separated the wires, front wipers and fluid work. Solder the wires in the back. Everything's good now although I'm stuck with a $100 new wiper switch from Honda. It's non-returnable
