Default Gold Membership

I just noticed after my last post that I am no longer a Gold Member. When did that happen and why?

It expires. You're expected to pony up every year.

I renewed in the past. Don't they inform you when it expires?

With the old site version, they used to send out an email about a month before your membership expired as a reminder. With this new version, they've had a lot of glitches to deal with and thus, stopped with the reminders. You don't know that you've expired till your PM box suddenly become "full" and you can't add anymore photos to you album. Then you have a look to see that "guest" appears under your name.

Do you think that maybe they would have more people renewing if these people knew their membership was expiring? They could inform you and provide a link to assist in the renewal process. Now I don't have a clue how to renew or where to renew.

Hmmm...must not need the revenue too badly.

If you go to your MyS2K page and look down the left side, you'll see a heading for membership purchase/renewal.
And no, I don't think they need the dues that badly. They have quite a bit of commercial/vendor sponsorship now. I think "membership" has always been a kind of extra for them.
