There's nothing wrong with your digital camera. If you click on the images and choose to view them at full size you'll see they're OK. Those steppy lines are called 'aliasing' and it's caused by the low res preview image not matching with your screen pixels.

How much did u pay for that thing?....My buddy bought one of those not too long ago...paid $23000.....said, he could have had it for cheaper if he would've paid cash???.....anyways...congrats!....looks good...not as good as the S though
