Default Hdtv....wow!

I've been to many Flames games last year in the Air Canada seats (i know they changed sponsors) and the last game Calgary played against Tampa was also broadcast on Shaw cable here in Victoria on channel 130 in HDTV. The results of picture quality.......

STUNNING! It actually feels like you are at the game.

Of course you need a HDTV tv. Don't forget to switch back to basic cable or even digital basic channelling and see how terrible the basic broadcasts are. Once HDTV has grown to more channels, there is definitely no turning back.

And of course, go Flames go. So maybe Vancouver Canucks weren't so bad after all having to lose to the soon to be Stanley Cup champions.

i believe DVD is 720 lines of resolution and HDTV is 1080. I have a 61" Sony HDTV and the HDTV shows are far superior to DVD. I can actually just sit there and watch those PBS nature shows, feels like you are actually there.

Until more TV stations broadcast in HD, DVD will still be better looking. HDTV broadcasts are few and far between for normal cable subscribers around here. Hopefully this will happen before my eyes get too old.

In a nutshell, no contest. HDTV wins hands down. I also concur with S2K Learner.

The other nice thing about HDTV hockey is the wider screen ratio - allows you to see more of the ice - makes it much more like being there.
