Parking may be grim anywhere near downtown at that time of year.
Other options to throw into the mix:

Joey T's in Eau Claire. Underground parking is a flat rate and is reasonable in the evening. Again, space may be an issue at that time of year. Joey's doesn't take reservations and those who live downtown tend to frequent that one after work.

Then there's the Joey T's or Earl's near Barlow and 32nd Ave. N.E. My concern would be for those who must travel far through traffic jams to get there but pushing the time to 7pm may help here. Anyway we look at it, it's going to be parking or travel time through traffic.

The Crowfoot area - quite far for many to get to - parking congested but the lot is huge. Same problem with reservations at Joey T's, but there's also Tony Roma's.

Or just stick to the initial idea.

Hmmm......the 4th St. SW Earl's isn't exactly DT Calgary....rather south of it......while crowded at times, I haven't had a problem parking there - they have a sizeable lot on the west side of the building and on-street parking.

Parking at the Earl's across from SAIT on 16th Ave. North... is almost always a problem tho'......hate going there....usually park a block north of it - esp. considering possible door dings...

Once we get into December (soon), we'll set the place, too. Looking like Earl's on 4th unless somebody objects.

Lets have it somewhere else than Earl's on 4th. Parking isn't friendly.

I don't think space will be an issue as Reijo has mentioned. Unless you consider safety to be an issue? Theft? Vandalism?
